We have seen demands in lightweight and high-performance materials. However current composites do not meet all requirements and EU regulation especially in relation to CO2. We think that the introduction of nanotechnologies in metallic and polymer composites is the answer to that challenge but there was a lack of European manufacturing facilities with suitable inline quality control and product traceability for industrial scale production.
Therefore, OASIS initiative provides the access to advanced manufacturing facilities enabling a knowledge-based approach for the EU industry as the essential step to accelerate innovation and the uptake of nanotechnologies into the market.
